Leavenworth is 2-hours East of Seattle.
There are two mountain passes to Leavenworth, US Highway 2 (Steven's Pass) and Interstate 90 (Snoqualmie Pass) which ties into Highway 97 (Blewett Pass). Both routes take roughly the same amount of time and really are a toss-up when it comes to summer weekend traffic. Highway 2 will take you through many small towns as you make your way through the mountains where as I-90 will offer different scenery through two mountain passes.
Let's get the party started!

Sleeping Lady Resort is a small resort with limited lodging; it is recommended to book your reservations early to ensure that you can have your choice of accommodations.
The Resort has many different room set-ups, some of which can accommodate up to (4) people, explore their website (link below) to determine which accommodations would best suit your needs. The established wedding rate is $195 per night. Breakfast at the resort is an additional $21/ person per morning; you won't be disappointed with the breakfast spread, especially the morning after the wedding.
The wedding rate will still be honored after April, but chances are by then there will be very limited availability at the Resort; don't procrastinate on booking a room at Sleeping Lady, Justin & Sarah are so excited to have their closest friends and family around for the weekend; think of it as summer camp for adults!
If a house is more your style, there are many rental options on VRBO. Summer accommodations can book up quickly in the Leavenworth/ Lake Wenatchee area, we suggest you plan ahead to have your choice of accommodations.

Lake Wenatchee
Leavenworth, originally a small timber community and the headquarters of the Great North Railroad in the early 1900s was transformed into the Bavarian Village that it is known for today in the early 1960s. Justin & Sarah have many fond memories both together and with their families from the Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee area.
The North Cascades offer lots to see and do, below are a few suggestions for adventures in and around Leavenworth.
Sleeping Lady Resort
The resort offers many common spaces worth exploring, including the creek, pool & sauna and O'Grady's market for coffee and treats
Downtown Leavenworth
The town of Leavenworth is quite the site, one to be experienced by foot. Find a parking spot (the North end of town has multiple surface parking lots) and wander through the town. There are many shops, restaurants, wine tasting rooms and curiosities spread throughout the town
Plain Hardware
A short drive from Leavenworth located in a small town known as Plain is the ultimate hardware store. A favorite of the Devlin family Aunts, Plain Hardware is full of all sorts of treasures
Lake Wenatchee
Twenty minutes West of Leavenworth is Lake Wenatchee, a beautiful North Cascade lake. There is a state park located at the South end of the lake that offers a starting point for enjoying all that the lake has to offer
Icicle Creek Valley
The Icicle Creek Valley is home to the entrance to the Enchantments, some of the most sought after hiking in the state of Washington. The valley unfolds upwards from Sleeping Lady Resort and contains lots of hikes and roads to explore
Steven's Pass
Depending on what route you take to get to Leavenworth, you may pass Steven's Pass Ski Resort on your way. It is forty-five minutes West of Leavenworth and is open for hiking during the summer months
Bavarian Bakery ($)
There is one secret to the deliciousness of this bakery and that is butter. Located at the North end of town along Highway 2, this place is one to stop at for delicious baked goods and bread. Tip: cash only
Fresh Burger Café ($$)
Fresh cooked to order burgers, featuring some unique burger creations on the menu. Justin's favorite: The Atomic Burger
Sausage Garten ($)
A trip to a German Bavarian town wouldn't be complete without a sausage and German beer. The Sausage Garten is an outdoor eating area located in the center of downtown Leavenworth. Get your fill of sausage and sauerkraut
South ($$)
German food not your thing? Or maybe you've had your fill of sausage and schnitzle? Escape to South for a margarita and some tortilla chip goodness
Idlewild Pizza ($$)
Tasty, well made pizza at a reasonable price. Enough said. Some venture to say it is the best pizza in Chelan County, we will let you be the judge
Wine Tasting
Downtown Leavenworth has dozens of tasting rooms located throughout, some are combined with retail stores. Stop in to one or multiple, most offer tastes for a small fee that is waived with a purchase. Sarah's favorite: Boudreaux
Icicle Brewing Company ($)
Tasting Room & Brewery located at the North end of downtown Leavenworth. The outdoor patio is a great place to sit and hang out on a sunny summer day
Silvara Winery ($$)
Perched up on the hill between Leavenwroth and Cashmere is a great tasting room offering lunch on the weekends and wine pours daily. Highly recommend a trip to it for the views of the valley & the selection of wine
Leavenworth Golf Course
Located between downtown Leavenworth and Sleeping Lady Resort, enjoy a round of golf along the shores of the River
Putt-Putt Golf
Located near the South end of Downtown is a real grass putt-putt course. Gather up a group and make some friendly bets; just watch out for the mountain goats who roam the sides of the course
Floating the River
Great fun in either a DIY fashion or organized through a rafting group for more white-water rapid action. Tip: check the flow of the river (excessively long floats start to diminish the fun) and make sure to pack plenty of beverages
Hiking/ Colchuk Lake
8 miles roundtrip/ gain: 2280
The photo above is of Lake Colchuk, an alpine wilderness lake just outside the Enchantments. An unbelievably beautiful lake and a highly recommended hike, although challenging. Look it up on the WA Trails Association website to check current conditions and to gauge the difficulty
Hiking/ Icicle Ridge
4 miles roundtrip/ gain: 1880
Hike up the ridge for a bountiful array of wildflowers, and stunning views of Tumwater and Icicle Canyon, the Wenatchee and Icicle rivers and surrounding mountains. The trailhead is just a short drive from Sleeping Lady Resort
Fishing/ Fish Lake
Fish Lake, located NE of Lake Wenatchee is a stocked lake that can provide endless entertainment. Trips past have included renting of a boat (party barge), a cooler full of beverages and a group of people all taking there turn casting, catching & releasing the stocked trout
